A bomb went off as soon as the first semester ended. Seniors left and right are now struggling to keep up with classes, and there is no motivation for anybody to get work turned in.
After having a plan for post-high school, whether that’s university, trade school, work, or something else, seniors are ready to start fresh away from Shorewood.
But of course, they are stuck with finishing off the last few months of school with other priorities in mind.
Ironically, the exact time restlessness and senioritis hits is when AP tests, finals, and end of year projects begin to overload everyone’s schedules.
Seniors must somehow juggle keeping up with grades while finding roommates, making time for work, planning graduation parties, and potentially moving away from home in the fall.
Current juniors should be prepared for senioritis once the wave of college applications and decisions come to a close next year. Once the second semester begins, it’s incredibly important to keep up with your work throughout the spring.

However, with activities and school work piled onto students with zero motivation, many seniors feel stressed and overloaded.
Don’t underestimate the second semester slump, as you may experience it when you least expect.
