If you’ve ever seen the school parking lot on a Wednesday morning, you have seen the cars of students and teachers lining the no-park zones from entrance to exit.
The safety hazard that this is for drivers, especially those who have only been driving from a few months to a year is unacceptable.
The main cause of this overflow? Sophomores, juniors, and seniors who choose to park in the school parking lot without having purchased a parking pass.
Those of us who had to pay for a parking pass to park in the parking lot just to find out that students have been parking there free of cost feel the unfairness of this ordeal.
While, yes, getting your license is fun and it is exciting to be able to drive, disregarding those who spent their own money for a parking spot deserve to be able to know that their money did not go to waste. Not only is this unfair to the students, but the teachers as well, who need to teach classes but can’t even get to their room if they can’t find a parking spot.
Despite there being tickets routinely given out, they don’t seem to be having any sort of effect on those of you who decide to illegally park in the parking lot.
So, if you are a student who has not purchased a parking pass and still chooses to park in the parking lot, please choose to respect those who did spend their money and park on one of the neighboring streets.
