Confused about the ins and outs of printing in the library–specifically the monetary side of things? You aren’t alone. Librarian Amanda Workman clears it up for us.
According to Workman, every student is connected to a service called PaperCut, which keeps track of how much printing students and staff do.
At the beginning of every school year, every student starts with $3 in their account. Printing in black-and-white costs 5 cents per page. Printing in color costs 40 cents per page.
What if you run out of printing money? Workman says that if you desire to print something for school purposes, she will put more money in your account. If you desire to print for personal use (or any use not related to school), you will have to pay for it from your pocket. You can do this at the business office.
This is the case for black-and-white or color printing, however black-and-white is encouraged, because color is much more costly for the school.
If you have further questions, Workman encourages you to contact her by e-mailing [email protected], or visiting her in the library.
