Jin Dwinell is our new Kitchen Manager here at Shorewood, replacing Susan “Suzie” Piper Sack who retired after many years of service.
Dwinell has big shoes to fill and is ready for the challenge.
“I think the big goal is taking care of all students,” Dwinell said.
She added that her other goals are to provide for everyone and get to know everyone.
Dwinell has a lot of past experience working in the kitchen in Shoreline. She has worked in elementary and middle schools, and now high school. She worked in the kitchen at Kellogg Middle School for three years, alongside former Shorewood Kitchen Manager Piper Sack.
According to Dwinell, the biggest difference between her previous time working in elementary schools, versus working at Shorewood, is the crowd sizes.
She also said that the schedule at Shorewood is much different and more complicated.
Outside her time at Shorewood, Dwinell said she enjoys exercising, yoga, cooking, and reading books on her Kindle.
She also crochets. In fact, she recently crocheted an oven mitt for her use here at school.
Dwinell has a daughter who graduated from Shorewood in 2022. Dwinell said that she already has a connection to Shorewood due to that, and she is excited to be working here.
Overall, Dwinell said that she wants students here at Shorewood to see her as a friend. In her own words, she wants all of the students here to be saying that she is “the best Kitchen Aid ever!”
