Summer start up
Here are some movies and shows for you to look forward to this summer and when they’re coming out:
June 1, 2022
- “Ms. Marvel” (June 8)
- “Ms. Marvel” is a new Marvel show coming out this summer that will focus on America Chavez, a young girl struggling to fit in, and the events that take place after she gains superpowers like the heroes she loves.
- “Jurassic World Dominion” (June 10)
- Concluding the Jurrasic era movies, “Jurassic World Dominion” follows the events happening four years after the previous Jurassic World movie and will include beloved characters from both the Jurassic Park and World trilogies.
- “Lightyear” (June 17)
- For fans of the Toy Story movies, “Lightyear” will focus on the origins of everyone’s favorite space ranger, Buzz Lightyear .
- “The Summer I Turned Pretty” (June 17)
- Based on the series by Jenny Han, “The Summer I Turned Pretty” will show the drama and heartbreak that is bound to come up when a love triangle between a girl and two brothers happens during a summer that will change everything.
- “Umbrella Academy” Season 3 (June 22)
- After messing with time travel, again, the Hargreeves family must work with their Dad’s new family to help fix the problems they caused. Be sure to catch up on the previous seasons before this one comes out.
- “Elvis” (June 24)
- With biopics becoming more popular now, “Elvis” features the story of Elvis Presley as he rises to fame in the 1950s.
- “Stranger Things 4: Part 2” (July 1)
- Picking up after “Stranger Things 4: Part 1” the season will follow the main group of friends once again as they battle with an approaching evil, make sure to watch the past seasons so you don’t get left behind.
- “Minions: The Rise of Gru” (July 1)
- The second prequel to the popular Despicable Me movies, “Minions: The Rise of Gru” will feature a young Gru and his minion friends as they are chased by a group of supervillains called the Vicious 6.
- “Thor: Love and Thunder” (July 8)
- Continuing the adventures of Thor, “Thor: Love and Thunder” will focus on Thor’s life during the aftermath of “Avengers: Endgame,” this film will also feature Jane Foster, Thor’s EX-girlfriend.
- “Where The Crawdads Sing” (July 15)
- Based on the book by Delia Owens “Where The Crawdads Sing” will be about Kya, a girl who raised herself in the marshes of the deep South, as she becomes the main suspect of a murder case.
- “Bullet Train” (July 29)
- Featuring Brad Pitt, “Bullet Train” is a fast paced movie about five assassins on related missions fighting one another as they’re stuck on a quickly moving bullet train from Tokyo to Morioka.
- “DC League of Super-Pets” (July 29)
- A fun movie for families to enjoy together, “DC League of Super-Pets” will be about Superman’s dog as he gathers a group of ragtag animals to go save the Justice League after they’re captured.
- “Not Okay” (August 5)
- “Not Okay,” featuring actors such as Zoe Deutch and Dylan O’Brian, will focus around a misguided young woman as she fakes a trip to Paris to gain social media followers.
- “Secret Headquarters” (August 5)
- “Secret Headquarters” will tell the story of a young boy who finds a secret headquarter seemingly belonging to a superhero underneath his home leading him and his friends to believe that his estranged father may have a double life.
